Mrs. Thelma Cartwright

  My name is Thelma Cartwright. I am currently in my fifth year as the library media specialist at H. M. Nailor Elementary. I have 19 years of teaching experience. I began my career in education as a high school English teacher for the West Bolivar School District. I spent six years in the West Bolivar School District where I also worked as a library media specialist, physical education teacher, and junior high and high school girls' basketball coach. In 2009, I began working for the Cleveland School District as a library media specialist at D.M. Smith Middle School.  I returned to the West Bolivar School District in 2014, where I taught 3rd grade language arts for two years and served as the elementary library media specialist for two years.   I received my bachelor's degree in English with a minor in physical education from the University of West Alabama, where I also played basketball and ran cross country. I received a Master's Degree in Elementary Education from Delta State University and an Educational Specialist in Administration and Supervision from Delta State University.   I am married to Jack Cartwright of Rosedale, MS. We have three children, Jack, Jr. age 18, Stella Rose age 13, and Jackson age 11. ​
